Founder and Managing Partner
An inventor with nearly 40 patents of his own and Emeritus Professor of Electrical Engineering at Tel Aviv University, Prof. Nathan serves as the managing partner of Nathan & Associates and is a registered US patent agent.
Before this latest foray into patents, Prof. Nathan had a decades-long career in academia and research. He began his studies in Israel where he obtained a BSc and a MSc in Mechanical Engineering at the Technion in Haifa. He then received his PhD in Materials Science from Cornell University in the United States. Later, he worked as a researcher for IBM Research Laboratories and Martin Marietta (now Martin Lockheed).
Due to his multi-faceted background in research, technology, and academia, Prof. Nathan is able to bring a unique perspective and expertise to patent drafting and prosecution before the USPTO and international patent offices, in complex high-tech subject areas like autonomous vehicle technologies, cyber security, cameras, electronics, semiconductor technologies, nanotechnologies, mechanical devices, and much more.

Daniela Nathan is a certified attorney member of the Israel Bar Association and a graduate of Bar Ilan University (LL.B.) Prior to entering the field of law, Daniela developed a specialty in technology working in several high-tech companies in addition to her employment serving in the military in the prestigious IDF Intelligence unit (8200).
As Head of Growth at Nathan & Associates, she is responsible for seeking out new business opportunities and overseeing the overall management of the firm’s guidelines and strategies, as well as representing clients before the Israel Patent Office.
With an extensive background in technological subjects and degrees in Mechanical and Electro-Optical Engineering, Allen Richter manages the European patent arena for Nathan & Associates and is a registered European, Swiss, and Israeli patent attorney.
Allen received his education in Switzerland and Israel, and is fluent in English, German, and Hebrew. As such, his main area of expertise is in handling patents for our European and Israeli patent clients, including handling of Opposition Procedures. Specifically, he has experience in drafting and handling patent applications covering the following subject matter:
Allen has extensive experience in managing a large IP portfolio for a technology transfer office, in particular in the fields of digital health and medical devices. In addition, he is also a passionate Jazz pianist.
Avi provides result-oriented patent drafting covering a broad range of technologies including software, telecoms, internet security, mobile apps, mechanical devices, medical devices, and electronics and has extensive experience with patent and trademark prosecution in many countries.
Avi began his professional career working for Eskom, the South African electricity utility as a telecoms engineer. Since moving to Israel in 1996 Avi has worked in senior product management and product marketing roles in large hi-tech companies as well as startups, two of which were acquired. Avi’s 20-plus years of experience with Israeli hi-tech and startup culture is invaluable in understanding and guiding the patent strategy of the entrepreneurial clients of Nathan and Associates.
Avi holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and is licensed to practice as a patent attorney by the Israel Patent and Trademark Office.
Consultant, Medical Technologies
Talya Efrati is a graduate of Tel Aviv University Medical School and is currently a Resident in Neurology at a major hospital in Tel Aviv. During her MD studies, she held the position of office manager with Nathan & Associates, becoming fluent in all aspects of filing and docketing patent applications and interactions with national and international patent offices.
After obtaining her medical degree, Talya worked as an IP consultant to a medical device venture capital firm. She now serves as medical technologies IP consultant for Nathan & Associates.
A veteran of the IDF Intelligence Corps, Amir Regev now works as the Head Paralegal at Nathan & Associates.
With vast expertise in computer systems, as well as IP search and analysis skills, Amir is a highly adept and resourceful member of our team. He oversees all filing and docketing activities while managing the paralegal team.
